Individual Presentation

9 Mar

I had an individual presentation in Korean class today and decided to talk about abstract art. I showed a few of my art pieces and I guess it overall went well.

On Wednesday I met up with my Korean tutor to practice speaking. We talked about random things but it was our first meeting so hopefully next week it will go a lot smoother. The cafe atmosphere where we met definitely helped to take away some of the “[…]” that had happened. Hah.

My artwork deadline is due for an art competition in New York yet I still need to draw two more pieces! 난 바보다.  I’m way behind, esp. because of college load and distractions with JYJ.

재중 오빠 넘 너~무 귀엽다~

I got to get back on track with work!….It’s okay, I got this! hah~

Amidst Controversy–wish JYJ Concerts in Chile and Peru a SUCCESS!

7 Mar

Recently we all know there has been controversy over JYJ and sasaeng. I won’t be judging anyone anytime soon. However, I wish for JYJ‘s success in South America and a safe, welcoming return when they return to Korea.

Just saw a recent opening for an internship position in social media marketing. It also happens to be in the winery field. Growing up tagging along with my parents visiting wine orchards all over the place, this internship seems very unique and interesting. I’ll send in my resume very soon. We’ll see how it goes.

In the mean time, I found some great photo angles for some wine. Beauty.

Work, Food, College= Expensive..our Economy what??

11 Feb

So, ever since my Sophomore year in College I have been working at a Yogurt Store near my school. The job itself is very simple (i.e serve people yogurt) and our boss and manager are very laid back, nice people. With my co-workers we often joke and laugh about various topics.  Often times topics range from religion all the way to skinny jeans and the silliness behind how tight they are. Seriously, if its legit skinny jeans it can cut off blood circulation to your legs! What’s so sexy about not being able to walk?? On the other hand, guys and skinny jeans?? Do you just want to demonstrate that your legs are skinnier than a girls?!

Haha. Well, all kidding aside. I took some pictures of my tip jar that I drew on at work.

Yogurt Diary Escapades

The diary/journal wasn’t started by me. A co-worker started the journal last year and in the journal all us co-workers write about all the funky, weird, hilarious encounters we had with customers. It’s really fun to read. We’ve also gotten quite a few famous people come to our store in the past, ranging from Green Day to present day popular Youtube Stars. Quite interesting and fun!

Ate some Shao Mai today, frozen from Trader Joes of course. No way in heck I’ll be buying that in a store, too expensive. (Yes, poor college student).

SPEAKING OF COLLEGE: TUITION!!

Tuition these days, especially for public colleges, is OVER THE ROOF expensive. I’m not going to blame President Obama because personally I think if you’re going to blame our crappy economy on ONE person, who, because of our “great” unique separation-of-powers institution, can’t do much anyways (Conservative House of Reps…I’m talking about you) you are quite, might I say, lacking of intelligence. At most, President Obama is just a “face” representative figure representing America. No matter how much he wants to improve the economy, provide better health care, etc. It just can’t be done! People are naive to think that electing a President will help benefit anyone INSTANTLY. Four years is not enough time for ONE person to be able to change something that SHOULD be changed gradually. Our Republic-Democratic society wouldn’t be considered the “best” form of Democracy were we able to change things instantly, whenever we so desire. That would create chaos.

THUS, I think its best to just understand the complexities of our annoying political system and understand that there will always be ups and downs in the economy and life in general. Keeping a positive outlook on life is KEY. Positivity is important but often times when economy’s down and people are affected by the immediate affects, it’s not so easy to remember the good things we still have in our lives.

Ahh, well that was a rant. I’ll start posting some of my artwork soon. Most of my old stuff is at my parent’s house so I have to go back to take pictures of them. I am in the midst of creating new ones for an art competition but I don’t want to post them yet in case there might be issues later on when they’re being judged in NY.

Still not sure how this site’s going to flow. Should I just ramble on whatever I feel like, like a journal/diary of sorts? Or should I focus on specific material? Ah well, will figure it out eventually. 🙂

Korean Pop anyone?? Talk of “Third Generation” and JYJ!

10 Feb

WELL, not saying I’m a crazy die hard k-pop fan (cough) which I am not…(I’m kind of stuck in the 2nd generation 동방신기 DBSK era)  there are some pretty talented young new kids out there arguably representing the “third generation” of k-pop–INFINITE, Block B, Boyfriend, A-Pink, what have you. OK, albeit in each of those groups only a few members are extremely talented for their young age,  the other mediocre ones can still hold some sort of tune and can still move a little when a song comes on…a little too harsh or lenient? Haah.

Now, for my all-time favorite group that got me into K-pop back when I was 14 years old…DBSK. Unfortunately, due to some conflict with their previous entertainment company, three of the members sued and formed a new unit: JYJ.

JYJ

I have the utmost respect for them and also support the other two members who chose to not sue and stay with their ent. company. I won’t play the blame game and say which side was at fault because I am certain there were  many factors playing into all the members’ decisions. For now, just loving JYJ and happy that I was able to attend three of their concerts in the US.

GREAT PERFORMANCES. LOVE!

Just Wondering…

10 Feb

These days I’ve been sitting in my apartment, going about as a college student set to graduate soon and wondering… what exactly am I doing right now?  Looking back, I haven’t exactly done much in High School besides joining the obvious…band. Now that I look back, I didn’t exactly have a “boring” life. I hung out with friends, went to the occasional party…and studied my butt off to get into a good college. Now that all that has passed, I’m stuck in a sort of slump. Meeting friends is fun, going to parties is fun…and I guess studying is fun, yet I feel like I’m lacking something-some new goal or aspiration. It’s like a candle that needs to be re-lit.

Thus, I’ve decided that in order to pursue some sort of goal, per say, I will make an attempt to write “whatever” here that I may well please .

Today started off with great weather, however now its cooled down and gotten quite foggy. Sometimes this type of weather is really great but it definitely doesn’t do much for trying to lift your spirits.

All right…that’s about enough for weather.

Back Again

10 Feb

This is yet again another attempt on blogging. For the moment I am not sure what I will write on here exactly but I hope to make this a habit of mine to simply write whatever comes to mind. Here’s to ANOTHER beginning….now this better be a good one 😉
